Kajukenbo was founded in 1947, at Palama Settlement on Oahu, Hawaii. It was developed by a group of martial artists who called themselves the "Black Belt Society". These great men consisted of black belts from various martial arts backgrounds and styles, trained and learned from each other. This was the beginning of an evolutionary, adaptive style designed to combine the most useful techniques and true aspects of the arts.
